Shri J.P. Sharma, Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India heads the Specialised Institutions Group in Department of Regulation, RBI. The Group looks after policy related matters pertaining to specialised regulated entities like MFIs, Account Aggregators, Assets Reconstruction Companies, Credit Information Companies, etc. Shri Sharma joined the Reserve Bank in December 1991 and has experience of over 33 years in diverse areas like regulation and supervision of banks, NBFCs and specialised entities, currency management, and human resources management. He was actively involved in designing of the revised regulations for microfinance loans which were issued in March 2022.
