Jacqueline Mbabazi
CEO , Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU)
Jacqueline is the CEO for the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU). Her experience spans over 20 years in the areas of financial inclusion with specific focus on microfinance, rural development, women empowerment, inclusion of vulnerable segments of the population, and support for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
She is a seasoned professional with skills in the areas of credit management, governance, project management, fundraising, research, ESG and stakeholder engagement. Jacqueline has also served on various Boards and steering committees that include among others, the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (the first Chairperson), the ESG Board Committee of SOLUTI Finance East Africa Ltd supported by SIDI, the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF), the Mastercard MSE Recovery Fund (Chair of the Committee) and the Project for Financial Inclusion in Rural Areas supported by IFAD. Jacqueline holds a master’s degree in business administration from Makerere University Business School. She is committed to driving financial inclusion and improving the lives of underserved communities.
