Mr. Udaya Kumar Hebbar serves as Deputy Chairperson (Supervisory Board) at CreditAccess India B.V., providing strategic oversight to microfinance operations across Asia, including India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. A strong advocate of inclusive finance, he brings over four decades of leadership experience in building, governing, and scaling financial institutions into market leaders. As the former Managing Director & CEO of CreditAccess Grameen Ltd, he led a transformational 100-fold growth journey over 15 years from 2010, building it into India’s largest microfinance institution with over USD 2.8 billion in assets under management and successfully steering its public listing in 2018. His focus on customer-centric products, lifecycle-based lending, flexible repayment options for women borrowers, affordable pricing, and high service standards has set global benchmarks in microfinance. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at ICICI Bank and Barclays Bank Plc, leading large-scale rural and micro-banking initiatives to expand financial access. Recognized among India’s Top 50 Leaders in Times of Crisis (2021) and as Most Valuable CEO (2024), he brings strategic vision and governance expertise to advancing financial inclusion.
