Mr. Rajesh Bansal is a pioneer in innovation for population-scale financial inclusion systems. With over three decades of leadership across digital identity, interoperable payments, and open finance, his work has redefined financial inclusion for billions. As a founding team member at UIDAI, he conceptualised, designed, and executed the financial inclusion ecosystem that benefits more than 500 million citizens in India. This includes the world’s first e-KYC system, a truly interoperable agent network, and cash transfer rails, all built with a people-centric approach.

As the Founding CEO of the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub, he built and led transformative platforms such as MuleHunter.ai, a pioneering AI-driven fraud intelligence system developed as a digital public good for the banking ecosystem. He has previously served at the Reserve Bank of India for over two decades.

The rails he helped create and scale are widely studied, globally cited, and increasingly replicated by countries seeking inclusive financial systems. His work spans continents and includes collaborations with corporates, governments, and multilateral institutions. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics (International Development) from Duke University, USA
