Rula Mheissen brings over 22 years of experience in training, research, strategic planning, and social performance management with a focus on responsible and inclusive finance. She has led social performance audits, client protection assessments, impact evaluations, and data analysis across the MENA region, helping financial institutions align with the Universal Standards and client protection principles. Fluent in Arabic and English, Rula has translated key industry resources, including the third edition of the Universal Standards. She has also managed financial literacy projects across Jordan and the MENA region, producing impactful tools and publications. Earlier in her career, she established and led departments in a Jordanian microfinance institution, including Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Market Research, and Social Performance. She also has hands-on experience in microinsurance, having designed and managed several programs. Currently, Rula serves as Director of the MENA Region and Client Protection Specialist at Cerise+SPTF. She holds a degree in economics and political science, with certifications in financial inclusion and microinsurance.
