Syed Mohsin Ahmed is the Honorary CEO of the Global Alliance for Financial Inclusion (GAFI) and CEO of the Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN), where he has been a key figure since its inception. He has led the development of PMN’s internal systems, risk management, and strategic positioning as a national leader in financial inclusion.
He has been instrumental in shaping microfinance policy in Pakistan and spearheaded the establishment of critical sector infrastructure, including a Microfinance Credit Bureau, Disaster Risk Management Fund, and client grievance redressal mechanism. Through the Financial Inclusion Lab at PMN, he has fostered integration with branchless banking, SMEs, and insurance.
Internationally, Mohsin co-founded the South Asia Microfinance Network (SAMN), now GAFI, serving as its first Chairman, and has contributed to global initiatives such as SEEP’s Advisory Board and Accion’s Vision 2020 Task Force.
He is a Cost and Management Accountant and trained at the Boulder Institute and Harvard Business School–Accion Program.
